About Kathryn

Starting with the basics:
My name is Kathryn.
I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri in the middle of America but I am currently residing in Fuzhou, Fujian, China with my boyfriend, Alex.
I am an obsessive planner and over-preparer.
I am an elementary teacher (currently teaching 2nd grade) and I could not possibly love my job more.
I had never been on a plane or had a passport until I was 23 years old.

How does a teacher who had never been on plane until she was 23 end up in living in China, spending every free moment traveling, and preparing to teach her final year before heading out for an undetermined length of time to see the world? Easy. I fell in love. Not with a person, but with traveling (and later with a person, but that’s a whole different story). I took a simple trip to Belize and I was never the same. I declared that if I only had 10 years to fill my passport, I needed to get started. Little did I know that 3 years later I would already be needing a new one. This blog is the stories of my travels: past, present, and future.

I have ran away from a conventional lifestyle and I don’t plan to stop running anytime soon. I hope you will join me along the way.
